From seed, to tree, to bean, to bar, Lonohana’s chocolate is nothing short of authentic, responsibly made Hawaiian chocolate. The family-run company is located right here on O‘ahu with 14 acres of cacao on the North Shore and a manufacturing factory in Honolulu. Its name – Lonohana – is a nod to the two families behind the company, the Klassens and the Boones, as well as Lono, the Hawaiian god of agriculture, rain, fertility, music, and peace. Lonohana is committed to a transparent manufacturing process, preserving the environment, celebrating the farming lifestyle as a noble endeavor, and producing world-class chocolate. From seed to bar, the entire product cycle takes place right here on O‘ahu under the careful oversight of founder, farmer, and chocolate maker, Seneca Klassen.
